Michael Masuda

🎙️ What a pleasure it was to welcome Congressional Candidate Michael Masuda to Studio 49 for Real Talk with Kandi & Garrett’s Candidate Crawl series! 🇺🇸 We sat down with Michael to hear about his Amador County roots, his journey to running for California’s 5th Congressional District, and what...

“The stories and videos of ICE and immigration enforcement officers that we are seeing across California and the Central Valley are appalling. Right now, aggressive surges in ICE activity are accomplishing the exact opposite of keeping us safe. Instead of going after ‘the worst of the worst’, ICE has been directed...

[Modesto, CA] - 10/03/2026 - The Masuda for Congress Campaign issued a joint statement with the Jaron Brandon for State Senate Campaign regarding incorrect information printed and distributed in Calaveras County, California, voter information guides. The Campaigns demand an immediate reprint of the voter guides, a...

"My deepest condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the two heroic pilots who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash while fighting the Dome Fire north of Wawona. This devastating loss is a painful reminder of the incredible dangers our wildland firefighters face every single day to protect our...

"The Constitution is not a suggestion- it is the foundational law of our nation. Article I clearly dictates that the power to declare war belongs solely to Congress, a vital check designed to ensure the American people have a voice before our service members are sent into harm's way. For months, the current...

Open your mailbox this fall, and you'll find the same story. The health insurance notice says the premium is going up again. The fire insurance renewal, if it comes at all, costs far more than last year. The gas receipt shows the highest prices in the nation. Grocery totals keep climbing while paychecks don’t....

Unless you live in Amador or Calaveras Counties, you've probably never heard about the 2025 Tiger Fire. Last summer, that fire started downslope above Pioneer and ran uphill fast through heavy brush, with the community of Buckhorn right in its path. Then it reached a fuel break, and it did what everyone hopes a...

"Twenty-one teachers went back to school this week with classrooms stocked by their own neighbors. That is what this community does when you give it a clear way to help, and it is exactly the kind of leadership CA5 deserves. We asked, teachers answered, and the community delivered."

"This is just another example of Tom McClintock's inability to stand up to the corruption and terrible policies of a president in his own party. We don't need rubber stamps. We need a representative who will stand up for us and protect the natural beauty within the 5th district that sustains our communities and our...

“We’re taking this campaign back on the road to every corner of the district. The doors are open to anyone, regardless of party to come and ask questions. I’ve also sent a direct invite to Tom McClintock. Let's debate. Any format, any moderator, hosted jointly by our campaigns or by a neutral organization in the...

"Tom McClintock held a town hall paid for by taxpayers in a county he does not represent. Alpine County is Congressman Kevin Kiley's district. It has been all term. When I campaign in Alpine County, my campaign pays for it. That's how it's supposed to work. A congressman who has spent forty years lecturing the...

The Supreme Court just made it easier for the wealthiest donors in the country to pour even more money into our elections. We have to be honest about what that means for voters. The billionaires and corporate PACs that influence our elections just got a boost. The rest of us got told to sit down. I'm running because...

“I am so incredibly humbled and proud to be a candidate for CA-05. The heart of my campaign is built on grassroots organizing and volunteer power. Our team has worked hard over the last year to get to this point, and we are looking forward to continuing this campaign through November. This is my home and I believe...
